Dental Home

Miles of Smiles, Ltd. encourages families with private insurance to visit their family dentist & to continue seeking oral health care within that dental home environment. However, we do not want any child to be denied oral health care due to inability to pay or other hardships. Therefore, full preventative dental services may also be provided to children carrying private dental insurance if all of the requested information is filled in on the consent form. Doing so allows us to bill the dental insurance company for the services rendered. We will accept what is reimbursed as the final payment. The families and the schools are not billed for any co-payments, deductibles, or balances. Occasionally, parents provide consent for us to see their children in the school setting even though they are already established with a dental home. If the examination and/or preventative portion of a child's next appointment with their dental home are denied due to our services, Miles of Smiles, Ltd. will reimburse the dental office for those fees. It is not our policy to compete with the local dentists and encourage families to seek oral healthcare within their community.
